About Café Além D'Ouro

Welcome to Café Além D'Ouro, a charming little café nestled on Rua de Costa Cabral in Porto, Portugal. This delightful spot is more than just a place to grab a coffee; it's a warm embrace in the heart of the city, where every visit feels like coming home.

As you step inside, the aroma of freshly baked goods wafts through the air, drawing you in with promises of comfort and indulgence. Despite its modest size, the café is beautifully cozy and inviting—a perfect spot to unwind, catch up with friends, or simply savor a moment away from the bustling streets outside.

Although the menu is thoughtfully curated, their standout offerings are nothing short of spectacular. Be sure to try the bolas de bacalhau, a local delicacy that Nicolas Daudin couldn’t stop raving about—crispy, flavorful, and utterly satisfying. For those with a sweet tooth, the scones with apple chunks recommended by Faty Lee are a must-try; each bite presents a delightful mix of sweetness and texture, perfectly paired with their rich, aromatic coffee.

The friendly owners, often described as the nicest couple, enhance the experience with their warm hospitality. David Kozak mentions the “good and cheap” coffee and the reliable WiFi, making this a favored spot not just for leisurely coffee breaks but also for those needing a productive place to study or work. José Beirão echoed this sentiment, highlighting the affordability and inviting atmosphere that make it a go-to location for many locals.

While Café Além D'Ouro may be small, it packs a huge punch in terms of quality and community vibe. Whether you're stopping by for a quick caffeine fix, a cozy study session, or a leisurely brunch, this café offers an authentic taste of Porto's rich culinary landscape. With every visit, you’ll likely find a new favorite treat and leave with a smile—and perhaps a new friend.

Nicolas Daudin

Great place, really nice owner!!! Thanks a lot. Great bolas de bacalhau.

Faty Lee

Café muito pequeno, mas super acolhedor. O cheirinho logo de manhã dos bolos frescos e do café, é simplesmente maravilhoso. A minha perdição são os scones com pedaços de maçã... Recomendo vivamente!

David Kozak

It is a small place, but still probably my favourite coffee place in Porto. The owner is really friendly, coffee is good and cheap and they have good and fast WiFi.

Rui Zamith

Big yes! The coffee is very fresh and tasty. The pastries are always fresh and home made. You can taste the care in every bite. The staff are kind and welcoming. It feels like a spot made for locals, but everyone feels at home. Simple, cozy, and worth coming back to. You should taste Costa’s cakes and Isabel’s rabanada dessert
